Any interested parties are invited to attend any of the three upcoming Healthier Buckeye subcommittee meetings being held next week.  The one time grants are to encourage collaboration and identify needs in the community that deter self-sufficiency among a majority of low income people in our community.  Our task in the next 60 days is to identify the issues, outline a plan to improve the local situation for low income people, identify how to implement the plan and measure success.
Three subcommittees have been formed to look at the barriers identified at the first group meeting held on March 9, 2016. The subcommittees are: Child care Committee, Transportation, and Workforce/Business.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, along with the Healthier Buckeye Advisory Council, has released a request of proposals for the purpose of awarding one time grants to local Healthier Buckeye Councils.  The Procurment document may be accessed at: http://procure.ohio.gov/proc/viewProcOpps.asp?oppID=12757
The Richland County Commissioners appointed the Richland County Youth and Family Council as the local Healthier Buckeye Council on December 3, 2015.
